The sun moves, shadows change; there is only a short period of time that an artist has to capture the shifts of light and color when painting outdoors - but it is this very desire to distill the energy and freshness of nature that drives the plein air painter. Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters was formed to bring together artists who share this passion.
I
avoided the mall on this Black Friday and painted with some of our group along the creek instead. I did this study in 2 hours...not sure if I
will do anything more to it or just leave it as it is.
Thanks Madeline. We were at Lion Park in Marysville and this is "Fishing Creek" which runs along the park...not to be confused with the Fishing Creek on the East side of the river. It was nice to be out!

Such a strong composition of shapes, values and colors. Great work, epecially after just 2 hours.
Thanks Cecelia!
