Yesterday, 3 Dec. was a beautiful day to paint en plein air. My friend, Amy, allowed me to paint on her property. The first painting, Lover's Lane, is a road on her property that is now closed to traffic and it really was named Lover's Rd. when it was open. It was really beautiful with orange leaves covering its surface The second painting is a house across from the front road that caught my eye with its clay tile roof.
The sun moves, shadows change; there is only a short period of time that an artist has to capture the shifts of light and color when painting outdoors - but it is this very desire to distill the energy and freshness of nature that drives the plein air painter. Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters was formed to bring together artists who share this passion.
